Swimming Pool

Goldsworth Primary School, in partnership with Woking Borough Council and with funding from Sport England, formally opened its enclosed pool (which can be used all year round) in September 2011. We are extremely fortunate to have this facility and our aim is to ensure that it is available for use by both the school and local community.

The pool is 15m x 6m and ranges in depth from 96cm to 106cm, the side area is stepped and is 60cm deep. The water temperature is 30°C. There are also showers, communal changing rooms, and toilet facilities within the enclosure.

Swimming lessons for Goldsworth children

As part of the school’s curriculum, all children receive between 12 and 16 swimming lessons each year run by a qualified swimming teacher. The school’s aim is to ensure that all children are able to swim 25 metres unaided before they leave Goldsworth. For details on swimming progression, please see Swimming Progression at Goldsworth pdf in the documents section of this page.

In addition, the School also offers a programme of additional after school swimming lessons. These lessons are aimed at children who are complete beginners still in armbands to those ready to progress to a larger deeper pool. We currently have over 90 children in the programme.

Our pool is also used throughout the year by various swimming schools. More information about each swim school can be found below.
